DecorX

Design and engineering, 2024 to now

An AI imagery platform for furniture retailers, manufacturers and interior designers. We designed it, built its core and took it from a prototype to one platform. Wayfair, Nebraska Furniture Mart and Kathy Kuo Home use it today.

Where they were

DecorX had two products. Its team in China built one for interior designers from our designs. We started the other, for retailers, as a prototype in January 2026. Retailers wanted both, and two links confused them.

The decision

We replaced the designer product rather than merging the two. Keeping two builds in sync would have cost more than it saved, so once the retailer product did nearly everything, customers moved onto it, and so did the team in China.

Portal grew until it did both jobs, so everyone moved onto it.

What shipped

One platform for every image a retailer needs, from room scenes to full product sets. One of its tools, Fabric Mapper, keeps a fabric's print where you place it when the image is generated. Try it:

Pick a part of the sofa and drag the swatch to where you want it. Set the swatch size, then generate the rest of the sofa from that placement. It's real DecorX data, except the front rail, which we traced by hand.
Designer: a sofa sketch in, product shots and room scenes out.

How we work together

We work as part of DecorX's team. We set priorities with the CEO, design new features and build the core of the platform with the engineers.
